A Brief History of Physics?

There probably is such a book in the works; but actually science history has been largely ignored in any comprehensive form. Especially since the things taught in public schools, when investigated are never so cut and dry, and not long in the past every country would makes it's own claim at being first. One historian who seemed to me to treat the topic well is named James Burke; he did this in TV, video format: you can find some of his stuff on youtube.
